Phillies Pitcher Cole Hamels Is Selling His House, Too

A couple weeks ago, we learned that Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard was selling his house.  However, it appears that he is not the only one on the Phillies looking to sell.   Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels has put his house for sale, too.

Lauren Mennen on Philly.com's real estate blog reports that Hamels has put his Newtown Square house up for sale:

Hamels put his Newtown Square home on the market two months ago for $1.55 million. 

According to public records, Hamels and his wife, Heidi, purchased the 8,000-square-foot home in August 2009 for $1.53 million.

His home, about 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia, is a two-story stone colonial, and is set on a private lot on just less than an acre.

The pictures on the listing show that the house is mostly cleared out, so Hamels must have settled in elsewhere already.  Could this be in anticipation of a potential trade?  We learned this week that the Phillies are actively and heavily scouting the Red Sox organization.  The Red Sox are believed to be interested in acquiring Hamels.

The house has an open house scheduled for this coming Sunday, August 17, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The Phillies (and Hamels) will be out of town, though.  If you have $1.55 million and are looking for a house in the area, this looks really nice.   Look at the listing here, which includes the following and 21 other photos:

UPDATE: Mennen updated her post to indicate that Hamels actually moved to a bigger house across the street.  Looks like they're planning on staying in the area.
