A couple weeks after the Phillies outrighted utility infielder and sometimes pretend outfielder Michael Martinez off of the 40-man roster, he is back in the Phillies organization once again, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports. Although Martinez elected free agency, he signed a new minor league deal with the Phillies.
Martinez is never, ever going to go away. However, Martinez showed improvement in 2013. After hitting .174 in 2012, Martinez hit .175 in 2013. Maybe 2014 will bring .176 if he continues to improve.
