Phillies to announce leadership changes this afternoon

Jake Kaplan of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported via Twitter that this afternoon at 2:30 that John Middleton and Pat Gillick will hold a press conference to announce leadership changes in the Phillies front office. Andy MacPhail is expected to be named to a key position (most speculate President). Of most interesting note is that John Middleton will be involved as Middleton never does media regarding the Phillies. Middleton is best known for his investment in the Phillies after the sale of his family's cigar business. There have been various reports of his attempts to buy more shares and assume more control of the franchise in recent years. More to come later in the day.
