Report: Sixers release James Young

The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly parted ways with one of their two-way players. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, the team has released former first rounder James Young.

In 19 games for the Delaware 87ers this season, Young averaged 19.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists, shooting 40.2 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc. He appeared in six games for Philadelphia, averaging 2.8 points on 35.7 percent shooting. 

Young, 22, was selected with the 17th overall pick by the Celtics in 2014 out of the University of Kentucky. He's played in 95 games across four NBA seasons. The Sixers signed him to a two-way deal in January.
