Roy Halladay was at his best beating the Padres at Ciztizen Bank Park, 5-3. In his last start at Chicago, he left in the 5th inning after only facing one batter due heat exhaustion. This was a nice rebound as he tried to show last outing was only a fluke.

Halladay (12-4) went eight innings, allowing three runs/two earned on eight hits, struck out eight.

Carlos Ruiz drove in two runs and Ryan Howard went 2-for-4 with a pair of opposite field hits (shocker).

Also, Raul Ibanez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. He nearly had two more in the seventh inning, but San Diego CF Chris Denorfia made a spectacular catch, reaching over the wall and pulling back a would be two-run home run. Yeah, classless Philly fans gave the guy a Standing Oviation.

Antonio Bastardo pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his eighth save. It was a nice rebound from yesterday's outing.

Here is some awesome news: The Phillies are now 7-2 since the All-Star break, have won nine straight series and have won 64 of their first 100 games.

Tomorrow's matchup is Aaron Harang vs Cliff Lee at 105pm as the Phillies go for the sweep!
