Sixers assistant coach, former NBA center Sean Rooks passes away at 46

Sad news from the Philadelphia 76ers tonight as assistant coach and former NBA center Sean Rooks has passed away. He was only 46 years old.

Rooks was drafted in the second round of the 1992 draft by the Dallas Mavericks. He also spent time with the Timberwolves, Hawks, Lakers, Clippers, Magic and Hornets before retiring in 2004.
He joined the Sixers as a player development assistant/assistant coach in 2014. The team was not planning to renew his contract for the upcoming year, according to Philly.com.
