No matter who the Sixers select in the draft, it seems likely they'll add some veteran depth in free agency. If Philadelphia goes with a forward like Josh Jackson, then signing a guard could make sense for the team. According to Michael Kaskey-Blomain of 97.3 ESPN, the Sixers plan to pursue Spurs guard Patty Mills this offseason.

Mills not only would fill a need for the Sixers at guard, but also has a long-standing relationship with head coach Brett Brown. Mills spent two years under Brett Brown when he was an assistant in San Antonio and they have also worked together on the Australian National Team.

Mills will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason after averaging 9.5 points and 3.5 assists in just under 22 minutes per game with the Spurs. He shot 44 percent from the floor during the regular season and 41.4 percent from beyond the arc.
