The Philadelphia 76ers have added a point guard to their roster prior to opening their Summer League schedule tonight against Boston. Sergio Rodriguez joins the team after spending the last five seasons playing in Spain. The signing comes three days after Philadelphia inked Jerryd Bayless to a three-year contract worth $27 million.

Rodriguez, 30, was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 2006 NBA Draft towards the end of the first round and was immediately traded to the Trail Blazers. He also spent time with the Knicks and Kings before returning to Spain. In 285 career NBA games, he averaged 4.3 points and 2.9 assists per game.

This past season in the Euroleague, Rodriguez averaged 11.8 points and 6.1 assists in 24.2 minutes per game. He shot 47.7 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.
