Joel Farabee scored off the great feed from Hayes to secure a 5-4 win over the Nashville Predators on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Center on a night when the team honored Claude Giroux for his 1,000th game.  

Flyers captain Claude Giroux will suit up in his 1,000th NHL game, all with the Flyers, as they take on the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. With the trade deadline looming, now just four days away, it could very well be the final time Giroux wears the Flyers uniform.

In career game No. 999 on Sunday night, Giroux reached another milestone. A goal in the second period was his 900th career point. At the time, it put the Flyers in the lead of a game they went on to allowing the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and fall to the Montreal Canadiens, 4-3, in overtime at Wells Fargo Center.

Just over 24 hours after completing a 3-1 loss in Carolina to close out a two-game trip, the Flyers go from facing two of the top three teams in the league to the league’s worst team, the Montreal Canadiens. 

The road doesn’t get any easier as the Flyers face another team ranked in the top three in the league. The Carolina Hurricanes await for a Saturday afternoon matinee.

A strong second period with three goals for the Flyers made it a one-goal game again, but the Panthers closed out strong to secure a 6-3 decision over the Flyers on Thursday night. 

The Flyers have a chance to get their second three-game winning streak on Thursday night when they take on the Florida Panthers, but the task will certainly not be easy. The Panthers enter the night in a tie for second in the NHL and first in the Eastern Conference with Carolina at 83 points.

The Flyers’ eight-game homestand comes complete on Tuesday night as they look to build on Saturday’s win, taking on the Vegas Golden Knights. 

Two third-period goals were enough as the Flyers held on for a 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in an entertaining game.
