The Flyers got the better of the Panthers in the end via the shootout in a wild 6-5 win on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Center.

The overall scope of this game was more positive for the Flyers. The penalty kill was better. The defensive coverage was better. There were chances to capitalize. But as has been the case with the Flyers for really the last decade now, it doesn’t seem to keep the frustrating finishes at bay.

Cody Eakin scored with 1:25 left in regulation for the only goal of the game, as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Flyers, 1-0, behind a stellar start from Marc-Andre Fleury on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.

In just their fifth game of the season, the Flyers wrap up the season series with the Vegas Golden Knights, a team struggling out of the game with losses in four of their first five games. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

After an embarrassing 8-2 loss in their home opener on Tuesday, the team’s flaws proved to be their downfall once again.
