At the top of the list of the Eagles team needs, or maybe a very close second, is the wide receiver position. Mike Williams of Clemson is regarded as one of the top wideouts in this year’s draft. He would be a perfect fit for Philadelphia.

Greg Lewis was the first victim of the Eagles offseason. He likely won’t be the last. On a night when the football world was treated to one of the best National Championship games in history, it also served as a sore reminder as to how poor the Eagles are at the wide receiver position.

The Eagles have already decided to make one change with the wide receivers: coaching. Wide receivers coach Greg Lewis was fired by the Eagles after one season on the sidelines.

The Eagles have many holes to fill on their roster, but the defensive line could be a real issue for the team in the near future.

The Eagles can be evaluated in several ways — by final record, offensive performance, defensive performance and coaching.

During Wednesday’s 30-minute press conference, Howie Roseman also stated that Joe Douglas, Eagles Vice President of Player Personnel, will have the responsibility of building the draft board and leading the draft room in April when the draft is held in their backyard, so to speak.

The Eagles and the NFC East experienced a lot of success in 2016, but the division has a lot of question moving forward.

It appears the Eagles has its long-term solution at quarterback in Carson Wentz, but there is simply not enough talent and depth on the roster to say right now that this team is “close” to being a playoff contender. The next three-to-four months will determine whether the front office can make the necessary additions and changes to put this team in a position to succeed.

Eagles legend Brian Dawkins is one step closer to immortality. Dawkins was named one of 15 modern-era finalists on the ballot for the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday. This is Dawkins first year of eligibility.
