Flyers Goals Against Rate Hurting Good Offensive Start

The Flyers currently are third in the league in scoring, averaging 3.28 goals per game. That is up significantly from 2015-16, where they averaged 2.53 goals per game. You would think the incremental .75 goals per game would lead to a much better winning percentage.

3rd-Period Miscues Hurt Flyers in Loss to Canadiens

Carey Price, who has been the rock driving the Montreal Canadiens hot start, allowed four goals to the Flyers on Saturday night. Somehow, it wasn’t enough. The Canadiens used a miscue by Michal Neuvirth and a shorthanded goal later in the period to get the margin necessary to win in a 5-4 Flyers loss at Bell Centre.
