Ron Hextall is looking for ways to improve the Flyers in the present, so while selecting prospects has been his comfort zone, he was looking for deals. But this wasn’t a typical draft weekend, and deals weren’t there to be had.
The Flyers made six selections on Day 2 of the NHL Draft, including five in Rounds 4-7. Here are scouting reports on those five players.
With their other pick in the seventh round, the Flyers selected center Marcus Westfalt at 205th overall.
With the 174th overall pick, the Flyers selected center Gavin Hain.
With the 143rd overall pick, the Flyers selected goalie Samuel Ersson.
With the 127th overall pick, the first of two in the fifth round for the Flyers, they selected defenseman Wyatte Wylie.
With the 112th overall pick, the Flyers selected defenseman John St. Ivany.
