Back from the desert, the Philadelphia Flyers can take a huge step in defining their season as they face their rivals, the New Jersey Devils.

It was a very successful week for the Flyers, who claimed wins in four straight games this week. The winning streak was led by their captain Claude Giroux, who took home the NHL’s 1st Star of the Week honors.

The Flyers managed to do something that had happened just three times earlier this season to the Vegas Golden Knights, claiming a win in regulation by a score of 4-1 to secure their fourth straight win on Sunday night.

The Flyers quick weekend trip out West concludes on Sunday night with their first ever meeting with the Vegas Golden Knights, easily the NHL’s surprise story of the season. Game time is set for 8 p.m.

The Flyers scored an unlikely result, a shootout win over the Arizona Coyotes, winning the seven-round shootout, 2-1, to take a 4-3 win on Saturday night.

The Flyers take on the Arizona Coyotes, the team bringing up the rear in the NHL standings, but the Flyers learned the hard way that a night off against this team will do no good. The Flyers lost to Arizona in their first meeting of the season in October in overtime, managing to get to the extra session only because of a frantic rally in the third. Arizona is also coming off a win in Minnesota where they erased a three-goal deficit.

Jordan Weal scored with 3.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Flyers the win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
