With Andrew MacDonald out 4-6 weeks and Shayne Gostisbehere now day-to-day, the Flyers have recalled defenseman Sam Morin from the Phantoms, according to GM Ron Hextall.

For the second time this season, the Flyers were able to put the frustration of the previous game’s loss behind them in a complete effort to win a game. Here is the Postgame Review.

After Thursday’s frustrating end, the Flyers were able to enter Toronto motivated and come away with a key two points in a 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

Hulking 6’7″, 240-pound defenseman Sam Morin won’t dazzle you on the scoreboard, but he can certainly add an intimidation factor that will make players and teams second guess taking runs at guys like Nolan Patrick and Travis Konecny. 

The Flyers fell behind early, only to rally back twice to get the margin to one, but had a pair of close calls go against them in a 5-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

The schedule turns to the road, as the Flyers will play four of their next five games on opposing ice. The first game comes Thursday night, as the Flyers take on the Ottawa Senators. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

Several Flyers players complained about the ice surface at Wells Fargo Center following Tuesday’s 6-2 loss to the Ducks. When asked about it in his postgame press conference, Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol wasn’t accepting excuses.

For eight games on the season, the Flyers have been a competitive group. But on Tuesday night, they turned in their first true clunker of the season in a 6-2 drubbing by the Anaheim Ducks.
