The Flyers responded to a Toronto goal and retook the lead at the midpoint of the third period. They never looked back, adding four more goals down the stretch in a five-goal third period, securing a win on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Center against the Toronto Maple Leafs, 6-1, to extend their winning streak to five games.

The Flyers were 1:23 away from a regulation win, but a perfect bounce helped the Flames force overtime and ultimately win in a shootout, a missed opportunity for the Flyers to pick up two points.

The Flyers face the struggling Calgary Flames, who come into Saturday’s game on a six-game losing streak.

Morgan Frost scored a shorthanded goal to give the Flyers the lead in the second, then with the game tied again in the third, set up Claude Giroux for his second goal of the game and the eventual game-winner in a 5-3 Flyers win over the Hurricanes.

The Flyers had the Islanders on the ropes with a 3-0 lead after two periods, but allowed three goals in the third, eventually falling, 4-3, in a shootout.
