Photo: Steve Kuzma/Flyerdelphia The Lehigh Valley Phantoms were riding a four-game winning streak as they prepared for the final game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before heading into the All-Star break. Looking to keep the momentum going, they wanted to end on a positive note. They did just that with a 5-3 win on Saturday night […]

McDonald hat trick lifts Phantoms over Senators

On Wednesday night, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms tried to accomplish something they hadn't all season: complete a three-game winning streak.  Behind a five-point game from Colin McDonald, who had a hat trick and two assists, and two goals from All-Star Nick Cousins, the Phantoms downed the Binghamton Senators, 6-3, on Wednesday night at PPL Center.

Stolarz growing in 2nd year of pro hockey

Photo: Nina Weiss/Flyerdelphia In two weeks, Anthony Stolarz will take the ice in Syracuse as an All-Star goaltender for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Two years ago, that almost didn't seem like a possibility. Stolarz had suffered a gruesome injury while playing junior hockey for the London Knights, when a skate cut the back of his […]

Frustration continues as Hartford hands Phantoms 5th straight loss

Photo: Steve Kuzma/Flyerdelphia When you outshoot an opponent, 27-1, in the third period of a one-goal game and still lose, it's hard to imagine things getting much worse. Flyers get more affirmation on ‘future’ defensemen

Embed from Getty Images   In a span of about eight hours, two Flyers defensive prospects showed just how bright the future is. The terms "prospect" and "future" are used loosely here. It's hard to be considered a prospect and part of the future when you're having success at hockey's highest level. Shayne Gostisbehere scored […]

Stolarz brilliant again as Phantoms hand Penguins 1st home loss

Photo: Nina Weiss/Flyerdelphia  Coming into Friday's battle at the Mohegan Sun Arena, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins had only lost two games all season. None of those losses had come at home. Until now. Aaron Palushaj, Mark Alt and Taylor Leier recorded goals, and Anthony Stolarz made a season-high 35 saves to lead the Lehigh Valley Phantoms past the Penguins on Friday night by a score […]

Flyerdelphia Weekly Round-Up: November 14-20

It's another week with one win and two losses for the Flyers. A 1-0-2 week is certainly a lot better than the ones of recent memory, but the team is still struggling for points in the standings and goals on the ice.   Miss anything on Flyerdelphia from this week? We have it all […]
