With the NHL Trade Deadline approaching in a matter of a few weeks, the Philadelphia Flyers look to not only add a piece or two to their team, but could look to get rid of some key contracts including Wayne Simmonds.

The 20-year-old rookie sensation did it again. Carter Hart is becoming a regular rock star in South Philadelphia.Hart was the center of attention again, making 41 saves in the Flyers eighth straight win, 2-1, over the Vancouver Canucks.

Carter Hart made 18 of his 41 saves in the third period, including several highlight-reel saves, to keep the Flyers winning streak alive. The streak hit eight games, as the Flyers held off the Vancouver Canucks, 2-1, on Monday night at Wells Fargo Center.

Last week, Carter Hart was named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for January. On Monday, another honor came in, as Hart was named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week.

With seven straight wins in the books, the Flyers continue a five-game homestand with sights set on eight in a row, hosting the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night.

Saturday’s game was certainly not be design, but the Flyers stayed with the game and found a way to rally back and win in overtime, defeating the Oilers, 5-4, in overtime. It has them up to seven straight wins and surging.

In overtime, Nolan Patrick was the hero, scoring the game-winning goal to give the Flyers their seventh straight win, 5-4, over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon.

The Flyers come home for the next five games, starting with the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon, where they welcome Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and former head coach Ken Hitchcock.

The jerseys for the Stadium Series between the Flyers and Penguins were finally unveiled and Carter Hart receives an NHL honor for the month of January.
