Postgame Perspective: Better effort still leaves Flyers looking for ‘better’ fate

Take this in: the Flyers had to make a goalie change just 1:14 into the second, after Steve Mason allowed the Islanders third goal on 10 shots. The Flyers went on to outshoot the Islanders, 17-5, in the second and 46-26 for the game.  So the Islanders won in a shootout. Sounds familiar, right? "We […]

Flyers rally back, but Islanders claim win in shootout

Another long range shot made its way past Steve Mason. Just like on Saturday, the Flyers found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-1 score.  Dave Hakstol made the change in goal and the Flyers were a completely different team. The frenetic pace of the second period nearly had the Flyers completely erase the […]

This Week in Flyers History: Week ending December 6

December 5, 2005 The trading of prospects can lead to some wonderful things, or terrible blunders. It’s all in how someone views young talent and their potential. With the Flyers front office, they didn’t see what another team apparently did. In a relatively small footnote to the 2005-06 season, the Flyers made a trade with the […]
