Recently demoted relief pitcher James Norwood has been traded to the Boston Red Sox, the Phillies announced on Saturday afternoon. Norwood was 1-0 with an 8.31 ERA in 20-appearences for the Phillies in 2022 before being designated for assignment.

The Philadelphia Phillies (11-14) will look to stop their three-game skid on Thursday night against the New York Mets (18-9) in South Philadelphia.  New York has won four-of-six from Philadelphia this season. 

Brandon Nimmo’s 5th inning solo home run off of Zack Wheeler proved to be the game winner for the Mets on Tuesday night as they beat the Phillies 2-0 in South Philadelphia.
