Former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels is reportedly looking to make a comeback for the 2023 MLB season. Hamels, who won the 2008 World Series MVP Award, hasn’t thrown a pitch in the Major Leagues since September 2020.

Recently demoted relief pitcher James Norwood has been traded to the Boston Red Sox, the Phillies announced on Saturday afternoon. Norwood was 1-0 with an 8.31 ERA in 20-appearences for the Phillies in 2022 before being designated for assignment.

The Phillies optioned outfielder Mickey Moniak to Triple-A Lehigh Valley and recalled infielder Yairo Muñoz.
