The Flyers came out lethargic and slow, and Lausanne pounced on them for three first-period goals on their way to opening up a 4-0 lead that ultimately chased Carter Hart. A furious rally late was not enough as the Flyers fell to Lausanne, 4-3, in Monday’s preseason finale.

Alain Vigneault asked for surprises during Flyers training camp. With three prospects about to make their NHL debut as the season opens, he finally got what he wanted to see.

After three vigorous days of training camp practices on the ice, it’s time for the preseason games to begin. The first group of the day was the same lineup that will play in the Flyers preseason opener on Monday.

Day 2 of Flyers training camp continued with the same aggressive pace. Head coach Alain Vigneault came away impressed with Joel Farabee and the line of Kevin Hayes, James van Riemsdyk and Oskar Lindblom.

There is a new man in charge behind the Flyers bench, Alain Vigneault, and his presence was felt early in training camp. Drills were run at a great pace. It was something that left GM Chuck Fletcher amazed.

The first day of Flyers training camp did not come without some bad news. Chuck Fletcher said that there is still a way to go on a new contract with Travis Konecny and that forward Nolan Patrick will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
