The Flyers don’t get any time to wallow in the overtime loss from Thursday night. On Friday, they get right back on the ice to face the New Jersey Devils.

The Blue Jackets claimed a 4-3 win over the Flyers on Thursday night as Seth Jones scored with 32.3 seconds remaining in the overtime.

The Columbus Blue Jackets may have loaded up at the trade deadline, but they currently sit outside of the playoff picture with 19 games to play. The Flyers are six points behind Columbus, looking to cut into that margin.

Following the trade deadline, the Flyers move forward with the remainder of the season, trying to continue the playoff push. They can leapfrog one team ahead of them in the standings on Tuesday night, as they face the Buffalo Sabres.

The Flyers and Penguins are ready to take it outside. Lincoln Financial Field serves as the backdrop as the Flyers look to keep any playoff hopes remaining alive in their final game before the all-important trade deadline. 

Perhaps the fourth time will be the charm. This is not the Flyers first rodeo in an outdoor setting. They have been on this stage three times before, but have yet to get a win.

With 22 games left on the schedule for the Flyers, each one gets bigger and bigger. Thursday’s may be their biggest yet, as they travel to face the Montreal Canadiens.

The Flyers kept things rolling with back-to-back wins over the Detroit Red Wings over the weekend to improve to 12-2-1 in their last 15 games. They get a tough task on Tuesday at home, facing the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning.
