No questions asked, Shane Victorino and Roy Halladay had great games. Surprising, because I thought for sure that this would be another great game for Kuroda, not the Phillies. Kuroda has the most success against the Phillies in the Dodgers starting rotation. His 0.84 ERA is the lowest of any Dodger with at least five starts against the Phillies.

Before Kuroda could even settle in, Ryan Howard reached on an infield single in the first inning, scoring Victorino. The offense rolled right into the second inning; Ruiz and Martinez both scored on Jimmy Rollins' double.

Casey Blake grounded out to score Carroll in the fifth, putting the Dodgers on the board.

In the seventh inning, Ryan Howard doubled to score Victorino from second, giving the Phillies a 4-1 lead.

Halladay's high pitch count (111) kept him from pitching more than six and a third innings. He left two on in the seventh with a 4-1 lead for young, filthy, Antonio Bastardo who ended the inning with a double play. So young, so filthy.

Michael Stutes wasn't filthy at all tonight, giving up an earned run on two hits, pitching only one third of an inning. With Brad Lidge now in for Stutes, a run scored on Rivera's single (run charged to Stutes). Lidge had a tough outing, it was one that involved Chase Utley being taken down on the base paths, but the Phils held on to their 4-3 lead.

Shane Victorino hit his third extra base hit of the night in the ninth, this time for a home run, his 12th of the season. Ryan Madson closed it out allowing one hit, but securing the 5-3 lead. That was save number 20 for the season.
