NCAA Basketball: Drexel Ends Losing Streak At Home vs NJIT

Philadelphia, PA: It is still early in the College Basketball season and teams are figuring things out. That is what we saw on Tuesday as the Drexel Dragons took on the NJIT Highlanders from the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons came into the game looking to end their 3-game losing streak.

How the game went:
The Dragons would start the game by missing their first six shots while NJIT would take a 6-2 lead at the first timeout.

Out of the timeout, the Dragons would go on a 13-2 run over the last 6 minutes to make it 15-8 with 9:30 left. That also featured a big 3-pointer:

Drexel took a 32-18 lead into halftime.

After their slow start, the Dragons were able to get things fixed and take control going into halftime.

What could NJIT do to get back into the game & stop whatever Drexel has going for them?

Early in the 2nd half, the Dragons would keep the pressure on NJIT. The Play of the night was this sick poster dunk from Garfield Turner:

The defense for Drexel would start to make things challenging for NJIT for the rest of the game. This play from Drexel’s Josh Read was very good to see:

NJIT would attempt to go on a run late to try to make things interesting, but Drexel said “not so fast” and stopped whatever attempt they had.

As the final horn sounded, the Dragons would see their 3-game losing streak come to an end as they take down NJIT.
