Eagles Sign S Chris Maragos to 3-Year Extension

One of the fixtures of a special teams unit that has thrived over the past few seasons will be sticking around.
The Eagles and safety Chris Maragos agreed to a three-year contract extension on Thursday. The contract will run through the 2019 season.
"His work ethic, team-first attitude, accountability and high character are things he brings to work every single day," Howie Roseman said. "And he happens to be one of the best special teams players in the NFL and we're excited to be able to extend his contract."
Maragos has played three seasons with the Eagles, recording 37 tackles and one forced fumble. He also blocked a punt and scored a touchdown during the 2014 season, his first career touchdown. Prior to playing for the Eagles, Maragos was a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
So far this season, Maragos leads the team with eight special-teams tackles.
Prior to signing the extension, Maragos was in the final year of a three-year contract signed before the 2014 season.
