After Bills Claim Ruins Eagles Reunion, Slay Announces He Will Not Report To Buffalo
Just two days ago, Darius Slay negotiated his release from the Steelers so he could look to continue playing.
There was a lot of mutual interest in a reunion with the Eagles on both sides.
The team put a claim in on the veteran, but the problem is the Bills were one spot higher on the waiver claim order and did the same.
It now appears Slay is unhappy with Buffalo ruining the intended reunion as his camp released a statement Thursday that he would not be reporting to Buffalo.
Breaking: Veteran CB Darius Slay, whom the Buffalo Bills claimed on waivers Thursday, is unsure if he wants to continue playing and will not be reporting to Buffalo.

While it certainly seemed unlikely, the veteran corner has seemingly decided he will let the Bills either release him so he can join Philadelphia and be with the Eagles or he will be sitting out the remainder of the season (possibly retiring). Perhaps a reunion is still possible.
The Bills, meanwhile, had released Ja’Marcus Ingram to make room on their roster.
All of this is due to the fact that even veterans are subject to the waiver wire following the trade deadline, so Slay was not able to just sign with the team he wanted to outright.
