Eagles Transactions: Brids Bring In Former First-Round Pick Lewis Cine
In a bit of a surprising move, the Eagles have signed Lewis Cine to the practice squad.
Cine has been on the Bills practice squad for the 2024 season, so it’s an off move for them to bring him in now just because he’ll have next to no time to get accustomed to the defense – meaning he wouldn’t seem likely to be playing in the playoffs at all.

The move is most likely a stash for next offseason, then, with the team using the extra roster spot they’ve come across to bring in a player they hope can be utilized as a breakout candidate for next season.
Cine, of course, was a highly-touted prospect and a first-round pick of the Vikings in 2022. He broke his leg fairly early in the season and was cut in August.
Cine has appeared in just 11 games over the last three seasons with his only game this season being an elevation from the practice squad in Buffalo.
He becomes the sixth Georgia defender on the roster
Byron Young, claimed back in August, also had his practice window opened.
It doesn’t seem likely he’ll return, but the move would allow him to be activated if the team were to suffer other injuries and the end of his practice window would basically take him to the point that he has to be activated before the Super Bowl or can’t be activated this season – so not much of a difference either way.
Young has not appeared in a game for the Eagles yet.
