Eric Allen Headed To NFL Hall of Fame
The Eagles are getting ready for a Super Bowl appearance this weekend and their running back just received a major award from the league.
But the team also had one of their franchise greats honored on Thursday night.
When the NFL announced their 2025 Hall of Fame class, the Birds and their fans were happy to learn Eric Allen was among those elected.
He’s IN 👏

Allen was a second-round pick of the Eagles out of Arizona State in the 1988 draft. He played 7 of his 14 seasons with the Birds.
He was an all-rookie team member that year and named first-team All-Pro in 1989. The AP named him second-team All-Pro in 1991 and 1993.
He was selected to six Pro Bowls – five of which came during his time in Philadelphia when he recorded 34 interceptions.
Eagles owner and chairman Jeffrey Lurie released a statement on the news:

It’s a fitting season for the selection of Allen because the Eagles top two picks in the draft this past season were both corners (Quinton Mitchell and Cooper DeJean) and they’ve broken out to the delight of fans who haven’t seen rookie corners play this well right out of the gate since Allen in 1988.
