The Harrison Bader era in Philadelphia is officially over.

The fan-favorite outfielder has signed a two-year, $20.5 million contract with the San Francisco Giants, cashing in after an impressive — albeit brief — stint with the Phillies. In just 50 games wearing red pinstripes, Bader emerged as an unexpected spark plug and quickly won over the fan base with his energy, hustle, and timely production.

Bader slashed .305/.361/.463 with 11 extra-base hits and five home runs, good for an .824 OPS that marked one of the most productive stretches of his career. His offensive surge was fueled by improved contact quality and better plate discipline, as he trimmed his strikeout rate and consistently found the gaps at Citizens Bank Park.

While never relied upon as a middle-of-the-order bat, Bader became a key contributor near the bottom of the lineup, extending innings and creating scoring opportunities with smart baserunning and situational hitting.

Though his time in Philadelphia was short, Bader’s impact was undeniable. The Phillies will now look to replace his production and energy as the outfield picture continues to evolve.
