This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but the Eagles have a coach in the mix for NFL Honors.

On Thursday, Vic Fangio was names a finalist for ACOTY.

The Eagles defense was reeling last season and helped in a monumental collapse to end the season. It lead to the Eagles getting rid of both of their DCs and quickly moving to Fangio, who asked to leave Miami and return home.

Fangio has created the top defense in the league through the addition of a few rookies, unheralded free agents, and through aiding players like Jalen Carter to take the next step in their careers.

With three DCs listed as finalists, it’s hard to imagine that Fangio wouldn’t get the nod of the three given what he’s accomplished this year.

Under Fangio’s guidance, Zack Baun was named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year and two of his rookies are up for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Saquon Barkley was also named a finalist for MVP and Offensive Player of the Year.
