The Eagles have two free agent signings in their first year with the team who make the roster this time around: Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun.
For both players, their new home in Philadelphia has lead to career years.
A 2,000-yard rusher who could have the rushing record if the coach wasn’t scared, will be a starter and is named to just the third Pro Bowl of his career despite his clear talent.
Baun was of course not a big player in the offseason and not pursued by many teams but has put together a very real case for defensive player of the year, so this would be his first Pro Bowl selection.
The offensive line has starters (on the Pro Bowl roster) Landon Dickerson and Lane Johnson with backup (on the Pro Bowl roster) Cam Jurgens.
For both Dickerson and Johnson, this will be their third-straight selection, though Johnson has been selected six times over the course of his career.
For Jurgens, this is naturally his first selection since it’s his first season as the starter – an excellent start for a player replacing a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Finally, Jalen Carter makes the cut with his breakout season, marking the first time in his career he has been selected.
Six #Eagles were named to the Pro Bowl Games as the initial rosters were announced by the NFL:

RB Saquon Barkley (starter)
LB Zack Baun
DT Jalen Carter (starter)
G Landon Dickerson (starter)
T Lane Johnson (starter)
C Cam Jurgens

WR A.J. Brown
T Jordan Mailata
CB…
Jeff McLane also reports guys to watch are AJ Brown, Jordan Mailata, Quinyon Mitchell and Josh Sweat, all of whom were not selected but are setup as first alternates.
The fact that Malaita, who PFF routinely promotes as the best tackle in the league and who was the highest graded player overall through 16 weeks, wasn’t selected certainly shows how “valuable” a Pro Bowl selection actually can wind up being, however. A similar case could be made for Mitchell, who is a favorite for defensive rookie of the year, but wasn’t selected.
The NFL’s announcement includes a snub list in which they listed Cooper DeJean as “a stand-in for the entire Eagles secondary” as one of the biggest snubs this year.
Of course, the honors are nice, but there isn’t a single Eagles hoping to actually appear in the Pro Bowl as they are focused on doing something more important a week later.
