Arsenii Sergeev, Penn State

Penn State Hockey is coming off their best season after making their first Frozen Four.

They fell in the semi-final but with a young squad that has a majority of their key players set to return, they are looking to get back there and win a championship next season.

Perhaps the biggest loss for the team will now be netminder Arsenii Sergeev, who agreed to his entry deal with Calgary on Monday.

Sergeev spent the last two seasons at UConn before bringing his play to State College where he posted an impressive .919 save percentage and 2.54 GAA this season.

The goalie had been drafted by the flames in the seventh-round of the 2021 draft and was a major factor keeping the team in some games where the offense struggled with puck control.

The vacancy did not last long as Kevin Reidler announced his transfer to Penn State just an hour later.

A fifth-round pick of the Senators in the 2022 NHL draft, Reidler is coming off his freshman season at Omaha where he played eight games with a .920 save percentage and 2.75 GAA.

His team went 4-1 in the games he played over 58 minutes with the lone loss coming in his first game.

His worst game came in a blowout where Omaha lost to the defending champion Denver Pioneers, who would make another Frozen Four appearance later in the season. He came in during the third period of that game with the score already 7-2.

Excluding that game against Denver, he recorded a 2.22 GAA and .935 save percentage.
