Just a few days after his activation, Placido Polanco appears to be hurt again. The Inquirer's Matt Gelb reports that Polanco is out of the lineup because it hurts for him to field.
Polanco was to alternate play with infielder Kevin Frandsen upon his return, but last night Polanco sat out his second game in a row. Today will be the third and a disabled list stint is possible. Nate Schierholtz is expected to re-join the team on Tuesday, so he could take Polanco's spot should a disabled list stint take place.
Like fellow teammate Brian Schneider, this could be the end of Placido Polanco in a Phillies uniform.
As our Mike Frohwirth astutely points out, Kevin Frandsen may have to be the Phillies' postseason third baseman.
