We continue our look at 2017 NHL Draft prospects with Portland Winterhawks center Cody Glass.

The NHL released the lists of protected players from the Expansion Draft on Sunday morning, including the Flyers list of seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie.

In the next part of our series on draft prospects, we look at a few players the Flyers could look at if they choose to move out of the top two. We start with Windsor Spitfires forward Gabriel Vilardi.

The Flyers announced on Wednesday one of their preseason games with the continuing tradition of hosting a game at PPL Center in Allentown. On Thursday, they released the rest of the schedule.

It appears Steve Mason and the Flyers are definitely going their separate ways. Mason’s agent, Anton Thun, said on Wednesday that there were recent talks with the Flyers, but nothing formal regarding a new contract.

The Flyers released one part of their preseason schedule for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday, as they will play a preseason game against the New York Islanders at PPL Center in Allentown. The schedule was announced as part of a joint press conference between the Flyers and their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Our next prospect is the possible No. 2 pick, the other player the Flyers could have left waiting for them pending whom the Devils take with the first pick, Nico Hischier.

As we get closer to the NHL Draft, we’ll look at the obvious top two candidates, but also a few prospects that could be surprises at No. 2 or options if the Flyers do try to trade down a few picks. We start with the player widely regarded to be the best in the draft class, Nolan Patrick.
