The Phantoms managed to rally back twice to force overtime, but the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins got the better of Lehigh Valley in the end with a 4-3 overtime win on Saturday night at PPL Center.
The Phantoms continued to show why they have been one of the best teams in the AHL this season, scoring four goals in the third period to secure a 7-4 win over the Comets on Sunday afternoon.
Rivalies run deep, as usually goes with divisional foes in all sports. The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers rivalry is as old as time, but their AHL teams proved it’s still alive and well on Saturday night, as the Phantoms beat the Wolf Pack, 6-4, in a testy, back-and-forth affair.

The goal turned out to be the game-winner, with Cole Bardreau adding an empty-netter to lead their team to a 4-2 victory.
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms played their first home game since the All-Star break on Wednesday night, defeating the Binghamton Senators by a final of 5-0. Five different Phantoms scored goals and helped the team bounce back from their 7-1 loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last Saturday.
The hometown Atlantic Division dominated the Round-Robin, but couldn’t unseat the defending champions of the AHL All-Star Classic in the Final. A 1-0 shootout win for the Central clinched them a second-straight win at the All-Star Classic in front of another sell-out crowd at PPL Center.

Just 24 hours earlier, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms played one of their best games of the season, beating the top team in the league, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. On Saturday night, the Phantoms played arguably their worst game of the year, getting blown out by the Providence Bruins, 9-1.
