The Flyers hit the road and face the Florida Panthers in their final game before the trade deadline on Thursday night.

The Flyers return from the All-Star break looking to snap a five-game losing streak against the Florida Panthers.

The Flyers got multi-point production all around, as they defeated the Panthers, 6-3, at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers face off against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, a team looking to extend their lead for the final wildcard spot.

A strong second period with three goals for the Flyers made it a one-goal game again, but the Panthers closed out strong to secure a 6-3 decision over the Flyers on Thursday night. 

The Flyers have a chance to get their second three-game winning streak on Thursday night when they take on the Florida Panthers, but the task will certainly not be easy. The Panthers enter the night in a tie for second in the NHL and first in the Eastern Conference with Carolina at 83 points.

Jonathan Huberdeau’s second goal of the game came on a rebound following a shorthanded breakaway, allowing the Florida Panthers to pick up a 4-2 win on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center. 

Less than 24 hours before the trade deadline, the Flyers were left with a stunning defeat to the Buffalo Sabres, the NHL lowest team in the standings, handed a loss by lowly Buffalo for the second time in two weeks. It was the most fitting of endings for a team that has continued to get in their own way all season.

The Sabres tied the game with 3:03 left after an icing by the Flyers, then scored again with 2:38 to play to take the lead away from the Flyers in a matter of 25 seconds. Buffalo also managed the empty-netter to secure the 5-3 result on Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.
