The Sabres struck for the game’s first goal late in the first, then added three goals in the second period to chase Carter Hart from the game, as the Flyers were routed, 6-1, at Wells Fargo Center on Monday night.

Carter Hart made 38 saves in helping to lift the Flyers to their ninth straight win, a 3-1 defeat of the Sabres, allowing them to keep pace in the Metropolitan Division with the Washington Capitals in a tie for first place.

The Flyers could have a chance to move into first place in the Metropolitan Division, depending on Saturday’s afternoon’s game between the Capitals and Penguins, when they take on the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
