The Flyers head into the All-Star break after one final matchup in January, taking on the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night.

After making it a 3-3 game early in the third, the Jets scored the go-ahead goal with 11:16 left in a 5-3 Flyers loss on Sunday night.

The Flyers begin the first of four games remaining until the All-Star break against the Winnipeg Jets, a team ranked sixth in the NHL standings.

On Tuesday afternoon, it was first reported by Kevin Weekes of ESPN and NHL Network that Bruce Cassidy will become the next head coach of the Vegas Golden Knights. So what does this mean for the Flyers in their coaching search?

A goal by James van Riemsdyk on a rebound with 4:09 left put the Flyers ahead for good in a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Center. 

The Winnipeg Jets are in town on Tuesday night for the final game before a week-long break that includes All-Star weekend, as the Flyers face a limited schedule throughout the month.

In years past, it was a statement of needing to be better and finding a way to lose. Now the Flyers are, in their eyes, still looking for the consistency in their play that will make them a true contender, and they are doing it while evolving into a contender in front of the eyes of everyone else.

The Flyers had not had a winning streak of three games or more since before the holiday break, but they extended their current run to three games with a 4-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers next matchup comes on Saturday afternoon, when they face the Winnipeg Jets, as they look for a third straight win and another chance to continue their climb in the standings in the final game before Monday’s trade deadline.
