USA Hockey Announces a Handful of Players for the 2026 Men’s US Olympic Hockey Team

USA Hockey announced the first six players of the 2026 U.S. Olympic team on Monday afternoon.

Matthew and Brady Tkachuk will be joined by Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Quinn Hughes, and Charlie McAvoy as part of the initial roster reveal for the 2026 Milano Games. Full rosters are not due to the International Olympic Committee until early January 2026. All six players were part of Team USA at the extremely popular and successful 4 Nations Face-Off last February. They’re all first time Olympians. 

 

About the 2026 Winter Olympic Games

The 2026 Winter Olympics Games are set to take place from February 6, 2026, through February 22, 2026, in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. The Milan Games will feature 116 events in eight sports including a handful of new medal events in skiing, luge, and skeleton. Athletes from Belarus and Russia are not expected to participate as representatives of their respective countries due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

 

About Men’s Ice Hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics Games

Ice hockey competition at the 2026 Winter Games will take place from February 11, 2026, through February 22, 2026, at two venues in the Milan area, the Palaltalia and Fiera Milaon. Overall, 12 teams will make up the participants in the men’s tournament. The IIHF previously announced Belarus and Russia will not be participating in the 2026 Winter Olympics due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
