Two goals by Sean Couturier and a 33-save shutout from Brian Elliott powered the Flyers in a 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday afternoon.
The Flyers have won four of their last five games with Thursday’s heroics, and they will carry that into Saturday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Game time is at 1 p.m.

Some typical flaws showed up again on Thursday night and nearly cost the Flyers two points. Instead, a frantic rally and another game-winner in overtime from Ghost earned two points in a wild win over the Arizona Coyotes.
The Flyers trailed 4-2 entering the third, but rallied back to force overtime, where Shayne Gostisbehere scored the game-winning goal to give the Flyers a 5-4 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night.
The first game of a five-game homestand comes against the same team the Flyers faced to close out the road trip on Monday. The Arizona Coyotes had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Flyers, and come to Philadelphia for the back end of a home-and-home.
The 3-0-1 record on the trip buys more time for a team that needed to either turn it around quickly or face changes. But this is only the beginning for the Flyers, who can’t be satisfied with the results of one road trip and have more work ahead of them.
The Phantoms opened the month of November with a home-and-home against the Binghamton Devils and split the results, falling in overtime in Binghamton and rallying for a comeback win in overtime on Saturday.
Toronto GM Kyle Dubas was in attendance at the game between the Flyers and Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 22, certainly helping fuel rumors involving William Nylander. In the event that things come to a head with Nylander, the Maple Leafs may explore a trade. And the Flyers could very well be a suitor.
The fourth and final game of the Flyers road trip comes against the Arizona Coyotes in the first of a home-and-home between the two teams. The Coyotes have been an upstart team, picking up wins in five straight games.
