Given the Flyers 10-game surge and following struggles, should Ron Hextall consider dealing Michal Neuvirth after he gets a few games under his belt? Or do Steve Mason’s inconsistencies make a veteran backup necessary?
Over the course of the last eight games the Flyers offense has struggled mightily. During their win streak they averaged 3.5 goals per game. Since then, they are scoring at a rate of 1.5 goals per game. The Flyers have scored a total of 13 goals in the eight game stretch.
Taylor Leier, Jordan Weal and T.J. Brennan will be representing the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the AHL All-Star Classic on Jan. 30, held at PPL Center.

A 5-2 loss to the Rangers was a flat-out embarrassment for a team that has opened the new year as bad as they ended the old one. It took three games before the Flyers started to play with the compete level they had demonstrated on the winning streak. Despite taking 55 shots on Anaheim’s net on Sunday, it wasn’t enough in a shootout loss.
