While the numbers haven’t changed much yet, the Flyers are slowly showing signs of improvement in both special teams departments as the season’s first month comes to a close.
The Flyers allowed three goals in the third period in a 5-4 loss to the Coyotes, allowed the first goal for the seventh straight game and really never recovered from yet another slow start. Slow starts and poor defensive play are starting to do the Flyers in, and the schedule only gets harder from here.
Two Arizona goals in 1:39 did the Flyers in as Arizona scored three times in a sloppy game overall for the Flyers and held on for a 5-4 win on Thursday night.

Travis Konecny’s first NHL goal sparked a roaring comeback for the Flyers, who used three power-play goals in the third to rally back against the Sabres before taking the win in a shootout.
Three goals in the third period helped the Flyers even the score and earn one point. They managed to get the second one as well with a shootout win over the Sabres, 4-3, on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Center.

Saturday’s game was a much-needed bounce-back game from a host of players as the Flyers handled their first Eastern Conference opponent and picked up their first home win of the season.
The Flyers got two timely goals to even things up, and struck two more times in the second. They would add two goals in the third as well to come away with a 6-3 win over the Hurricanes on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center.
