Following overnight deal, Flyers remain quiet at deadline

There were plenty of deals to go around on deadline day, and the Flyers certainly kicked off the festivities with an overnight deal sending Braydon Coburn to Tampa Bay for Radko Gudas and two draft picks. But following that deal, and their Friday night deal involving Kimmo Timonen, Ron Hextall and the Flyers remained quiet […]

Hextall makes strong deal for Coburn

There was a six-hour window on Sunday where every player was safe. As the Flyers Wives Carnival took place in Wells Fargo Center, no trades would be announced as the players met with fans. But during this time, Ron Hextall was busy working the phones. The Flyers GM was not in attendance at the Carnival.  […]

Potential playoff berth will make for quiet deadline from Flyers

Does anybody want the final wildcard spot? In short, no. The Flyers had the opportunity to close to within two points of the final wildcard spot on Tuesday night by facing the Carolina Hurricanes, a team only ahead of the Buffalo Sabres in the Eastern Conference. Again, the Flyers turned in a familiar result. A […]

Emery day-to-day with lower-body injury, Stolarz recalled

The Flyers goalie situation continues to be the walking wounded. Add Ray Emery to the list. Emery is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and did not make the trip with the Flyers for two road games this week in Carolina and Toronto. Rookie Anthony Stolarz will back-up Rob Zepp in Tuesday's game in Carolina.

Player and Play of the Week: February 15-22

Another week of Flyers hockey down and once again it's time for us to give out our Player and Play of the Week honors. It started as a slow week, as the Flyers lost, 5-2, to the Columbus Blue Jackets and 3-2 in a shootout to the Buffalo Sabres. But this weekend, the Flyers rebounded with two […]
