With three days until the MLB draft, many believe the Phillies will likely select Florida's A.J. Puk. Nothing is quite set in stone at this point, though. Back at the end of may, ESPN's Jayson Stark reported that the Phillies were struggling with who to pick first overall in the draft, which will occur this Thursday, June 9. It was also reported that the Phillies were 'out' on a group of high school prospects, including Jason Groome.

If the Phillies plan to go with a bat rather then an arm, Mercer's Kyle Lewis could be their pick on Thursday. The 20-year-old outfielder hit .367 in 54 games this season with Mercer, just one year after hitting .281, starting in just 17 games as a freshman. Lewis is reportedly in Philadelphia today for a workout with the team.

Lewis played high school baseball in Snellville, Georgia but went undrafted in 2013. He hit .300 with seven homers and seven doubles in 39 games during Cape League play last summer against some of the best college pitchers using a wood bat.
