After a 1-4 start to the 2018 season, new Phillies manager Gabe Kapler had to know what he was getting himself into when his team took the field for the home opener Thursday at Citizens Bank Park against the Miami Marlins.

The team had their introductions, and as expected, the manager wasn't received well to start his tenure.

Philadelphia sports fans being passionate was put on display once again with their reception of the new skipper, as starting 1-4 with a ton of mistakes to start the season isn't something that made a ton of folks happy.

Now Kapler will have the task of responding to the negative cries of Phillies fans, and create a sense of hope and promise early on in the season.

The good news: There are still 158 games left. It's a long season.
