Phillies ink first-round pick Haseley, six other top-10 picks

The Phillies have signed outfielder Adam Haseley, their first-round pick in the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft, along with a majority of their top-10 selections.
Haseley, from the University of Virginia, was selected with the eighth overall pick in the draft. In 2017, Haseley hit .390/.491/.659 for the Hoos. Haseley also pitched 65.1 innings at a 3.58 ERA, but he projects as a hitter with a high walk rate and not too much power. Haseley should have the defensive skills to stay in center field, giving him a similar profile to last year's No. 1 overall pick, Mickey Moniak.
Haseley signed a deal with a bonus of $5.1 million, compared to the normal value for the No. 8 overall slot of $4,780,400.
In addition, six of the Phils' top-1o picks have signed their deals, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.
Right-hander Spencer Howard, the second-round selection, signed for $1.15 million, under slot value of $1,523,800. Fourth-round pick Jake Scheiner, seventh-rounder Nick Maton, eighth-rounder Jhordany Mezquita, ninth-rounder Jack Zoellner and tenth-rounder Connor Brogdon have signed as well.
