Flyers Announce Preseason Game at PPL Center in Allentown

The Flyers released one part of their preseason schedule for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday, as they will play a preseason game against the New York Islanders at PPL Center in Allentown. The schedule was announced as part of a joint press conference between the Flyers and their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The game between the Flyers and Islanders is on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. This marks the third season where the Flyers have played the a preseason game at PPL Center and the second time the Islanders will pay a visit to Allentown. The Flyers beat the Islanders, 5-3, on Sept. 21, 2015, and picked up a 2-0 win over the New Jersey Devils in Allentown on Sept. 28, 2016.

The rest of the Flyers preseason schedule is due out soon, but two other home games at Wells Fargo Center are known. The Flyers will host the New York Rangers on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., as announced by the Rangers earlier this week in their preseason schedule release. The Flyers will also host the Boston Bruins on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m., as announced by the Bruins on June 1.

The Flyers will also be on the road on Thursday, Sept. 21 against the Bruins and Monday, Sept. 25 against the Rangers.
