Flyers Players Want the ‘Woos’ to Stop

It isn’t uncommon for the boos to be heard at any sporting event, especially in Philadelphia. But lately, it’s another similar sound that has been getting some attention.

If you've been to a Flyers game at Wells Fargo Center this season or recently watched a game on television, you may have heard the crowd randomly doing their best Ric Flair and "wooing" throughout the game.

Well, it turns out the Flyers aren't fans of that.

The growing trend of woos has caught on, and the Flyers were asked about it after their practice on Wednesday.

"I hope it's a short-lived fad," head coach Dave Hakstol said.

"The first period they are [expletive] wooing," Jake Voracek said. "What are you? [Expletive] 10 years old?"

Rookie Travis Konecny was also seen letting out a “woo” of his own during Sunday’s game against the Flames, which many believe to be the origin of the fad. However, the “woos”  have been happening for much longer than that, going back to the first weekend of the season.
