For the 965th and final time, 16-year veteran, six-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger Award winner and 2008 World Series champion second baseman Chase Utley appeared in a regular season home game.

Multiple times during the possible postseason-bound Los Angeles Dodgers' 14-0 victory over the San Diego Padres at Dodgers Stadium on Sunday, fans showed their respect to Utley with a standing ovation.

Afterwards, Utley called his final home regular season game not an emotional day, but rather an "exciting day." Utley went 0-for-2 in the contest, and is hitless over his last 15 games and 18 plate appearances since August 1.

The Phillies have an upcoming four-game road series opposite the Colorado Rockies, who trail the Dodgers by 1 1/2 games in the National League West standings. Perhaps, given their elimination from the postseason on Sunday, the Phillies will help Utley return the postseason for one last chance at a second career World Series championship.
